All the pencil mark sait on the box was Bush-Wack, June 5, 1948.
This was the same negative box with the images of the full 1700 block on Pacific Avenue, where we observed the construction of the Tuxedo Park Office starting in 1947.
I believe Joel was friends with Philipe Bush. They both graduated in 1948. Joel in Feb, Philip in June. And we’ve seen one prior portrait of Philip, when I didn’t know who he was yet.
Since I didn’t know which couple to look for initially, I checked the Holt-Atherton Digital Collection site and found the engagement of Frances Ann Mack with Philip Charles Bush, announced on page 17 of the Pacific Review from December 1947. I reviewed their graduation pictures in Naranjado 1948 to be absolutely sure of the players.

The wedding was fittingly performed at Morris Chapel.

This is the first wedding Joel photographed as far as I can tell, he must have done some research of what images to take.

Joel photographed few images during the ceremony.

Bridal party exiting the chapel.

For those interested in genealogy, and possible descendants and relatives of this couple, I’ve located the marriage certificate and reproduced it below.

Philip and Frances moved to Kern County were both were elementary teachers. (1950 Census)

Next blog post we’ll check out negative box 63.
Cheers !
