The box has Omega Phi penciled in the corner with a date of February 13, 1948.
It’s actually Omega Phi Alpha, and yes, this is another dance party. Looking at the negative, I can only think that Joel took a lesson from his previous dance party coverage and paid more attention during exposure and developing.
This dance party appears not to be at the College of the Pacific but in an establishment with a large space, room for an small band and the interior looks polished.
Sixteen negatives in total. And again the thought that Joel has given us a look at the entertainment life at post-war College of the Pacific.

Joel captured a good overall atmosphere at the pre-party. Students having a good time hanging out and catching up with their Pan Hellenic dates. Some of the groups posed, others are more candid. In any case, few of these images got printed out.

Joel captured one young woman three times in these parting shots.

There may have been more than one photographer present, the above shots happen when you photograph from the side. Last shot was for Joel’s camera.

February 1948 is also the month Joel Pahl Dardis would graduate from COP. Let’s see what he does over the rest of the year.
Cheers !
