First set of images is from a COP diving contest. The score board reads COP vs SM
It’s clear why the first image got selected for publishing. It’s a clear shot with perfect timing, and a minimum of background clutter.
The next 10 negatives cover a boxing match at COP. There’s no further information. These are the first boxing images I’ve seen from Joel.
It’s a different challenge. Indoors, low light and hard to freeze motion.
Joel is not the only photographer present as we spot a flash bulb reflector in the background.
Joel did get some good shots, it’s all about anticipating the next move and be 1/10th of a second ahead. Easier said than done.
