In addition to the “Dr. Nelson Dogs”, there was a “3 Pahl” scribble.
The 3 Pahl’s were easy to identify. Three portrait style images of Harry Pahl and his wife Edra.

All joking aside, if Joel were around today, he would most likely make this a goth portrait of his uncle and aunt. Just missing a pitchfork and a straw hat …

In addition to the Pahl portraits, I found two more images of a people gathering. No references available, but presumably a “club” or association related to College of Pacific.

All the other images are of two well behaved dogs, tricks included. One image has presumably Mrs. Marion Nelson in it. I believe Dr. Nelson refers to Dr. George Nelson, the veterinarian whose premises Joel photographed earlier in 1948.

Joel does enjoy repeat customers. First photographing the premises of Dr. George Nelson, then he gets to play with the dogs.
Cheers !

I can see the joy Joel was felling as he took these pictures. He enjoyed the natural easy relationships, and knew how to be patient and wait to capture that moment.

Joel definitely loved dogs. I just came across a few more early 1938 negatives from Butch, the family Scottie … working on scanning these now for a future post !
