December 28, 1948 was something special for the kids, and adults, of Stockton.
Next few images show us the anticipation, and Joel is playing this little game building the tension up through images.
The other aspect of these images is, find your grandparents in this bunch ! We don’t always appreciate that they were kids at one point in time, and we don’t have necessarily images of their youth.
Santa Claus left his sleigh at home and flew in on a helicopter, waving at the kids in an open canopy.
This must have been quite the surprize and spectacle at the time. Joel printed all the above images.
