Rhizomia Dance, Dec 18, 1947 + Carol Singers, is what Joel scribbled in the corner of the box of Kodak Sheet FIlm with a price tag of $1.92.
Rhizomia is one of the living groups at College of the Pacific, and they had their own social schedule, no different than the other sororities, fraternities and living groups. Rhizomia members are referred to as Rhizites in the Pacific Weekly. One of the better known Rhizites is George Moscone (COP 1953)
Back to December 18, 1947, when Joel photographs the Rhizomia Dance party and dinner.
Something went wrong with the exposure and development of the negatives. They are mostly overexposed and low contrast. I’ve tried to save as much of the information as possible, as to show what COP campus life was about these days. These are images you typically don’t see in the Pacific Weekly or Naranjado yearbooks.

Table shots:

This series of images ends with the Carol SIngers.

And no, none of these images made it into Naranjado 1948, although Joel got credit for some of his sports images.
Cheers !
